My name is Tracy Iversen, and I have been a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner for two years and 4 months. I have worked in a rural community outpatient clinic, seeing patients of all ages with many different mental health disorders.
I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in December of 2023 with a 3.9 GPA. Before school, I worked as an RN for 6 years and a CNA for 5 years.
I specialize in anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. I also have experience treating patients with co-occurring mental health disorders and traumatic brain injuries.
My approach to patient care is to conduct a thorough, empathetic, holistic evaluation. I then work with the patient to develop a plan they can accept. I have learned that listening to my patients and giving them choices helps me connect with them. I feel that it is my job to meet my patients where they are and show them understanding and warmth.
Your first session with me will be an extensive psychiatric evaluation. I will ask questions about your past and current life experiences. I will also ask questions about your medical history and your family's psychiatric history.
I will also ensure you have completed releases for your most recent psychiatric and medical providers. I will need information from both to see the "bigger picture" and evaluate and plan your care effectively. I will also order labs to support the evaluation and planning process, unless you have had labs done in the past 6 months to a year.
