Great to meet you!

I’m Travis, and I welcome you to my practice. I’m proud to call Colorado home and have a deep passion for traveling and learning from cultures different from my own. These experiences have shaped my diversity-affirming approach to therapy, where both counseling theory and practice are informed by the cultural perspectives of both therapist and client. A core professional value of mine is ensuring that behavioral and mental health interventions are thoughtfully adapted to each person’s unique cultural background and life experience.

My approach to therapy

I believe that a counselor’s technical expertise is only as effective as their ability to build a genuine connection with the people they serve. Without that connection, meaningful growth in therapy can be limited. For this reason, establishing a balanced, supportive, and safe therapeutic relationship is central to my counseling approach. My goal is to provide an empathetic and straightforward counseling experience by combining proven, research-based interventions—such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)—with a compassionate and supportive therapeutic alliance.

What you can expect from me

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, with additional graduate-level coursework at the Washington University School of Medicine, where my academic focus was health psychology and behavioral medicine. My early work often involved supporting individuals coping with the challenges of acute or chronic illness. I later completed my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, with a focus on serving underserved communities. I then pursued post-graduate training in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Cincinnati, where I developed a strong interest in helping individuals manage excessive stress, worry, and anxiety.

Located on Colorado’s Front Range, my practice, Elevation Mental Health Inc., provides secure online video (telehealth) counseling services. Through this platform, I offer supportive and compassionate care using scientifically supported cognitive and behavioral approaches. I believe that many of life’s challenges and stresses also hold opportunities for growth. By developing awareness and practical skills, we can take meaningful steps toward positive change and greater well-being.
