Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Travis, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adolescents, young adults, and families navigating emotional challenges, identity concerns, and major life transitions.

My approach is trauma-informed and neuro-informed, recognizing the connection between the brain, life experiences, and emotional well-being. I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and strengths-based interventions to meet each client's unique needs.

As a former foster youth, I am passionate about supporting foster and former foster youth, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, life transitions, and neurological and neurodevelopmental conditions.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process focused on building resilience, developing practical coping skills, and helping you move toward a life that reflects your values and goals.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership. I believe it should be collaborative partnership built on trust, authenticity, and respect. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel safe exploring your experiences while working toward meaningful, achievable goals.

My approach is trauma-informed and neuro-informed, recognizing that our brains, relationships, and life experiences shape how we cope with life's challenges. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I believe it's more helpful to ask, "What has happened to you?"

I primarily use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches.

Together, we'll identify your strengths, develop practical coping skills, and create lasting change that aligns with your values.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, my priority is creating a welcoming, affirming, and judgment-free space where you can begin sharing your story at a pace that feels comfortable. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, the challenges you are currently facing, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together.

I will also ask questions about your background, relationships, strengths, coping strategies, and any important medical, neurological, cultural, or identity-related experiences that may shape your well-being. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about therapy, my approach, and what you can expect moving forward.

By the end of the session, my goal is for us to have a clearer understanding of your needs, identify some initial treatment goals, and begin developing a plan that feels realistic and meaningful to you. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting. The first session is simply building trust, understanding your experiences, and creating a path forward together.
