Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Travis Spradlin, a Licensed Professional Counselor in West Virginia. I graduated from Lindsey Wilson College in 2020 with a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development. I’ve been providing psychotherapy for the past three years and have a passion for helping people find clarity, confidence, and balance in their lives.

I’ve worked with children ages seven and older, using an eclectic approach that combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, play therapy, and humanistic/person-centered techniques. In my telehealth practice, I enjoy working most with adolescents (13 and up) and adults. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered to make meaningful changes. Taking the first step toward therapy is an important act of self-care—and I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you begin that journey!

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel collaborative, comfortable, and tailored to your unique needs. My approach is grounded in empathy and curiosity, helping you explore patterns of thought, behavior, and emotion in a way that promotes understanding and growth. I often draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed care, and person-centered techniques to help you build practical skills and deeper self-awareness.

Whether we’re addressing anxiety, depression, stress, or life transitions, my goal is to help you feel supported and equipped to move forward with greater confidence and peace.

What you can expect from me

The first session is all about getting to know each other and beginning to build a comfortable, trusting relationship. I’ll start by learning more about what brings you to therapy, including what challenges you’ve been facing, what’s been working for you, and what you hope to gain from our time together.

We’ll move at your pace, focusing on creating a safe space where you can share openly without pressure or judgment. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background and current concerns, but there’s no right or wrong way to answer, this is your time.

Rapport building is a key part of our first session. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and a bit more hopeful about the process ahead. Together, we’ll start laying the foundation for your treatment goals and discuss how therapy can best support you moving forward.
