I received my Ph.D. from UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, a clinically focused school with wonderful access to psychological and medical training. I transitioned to private practice in 2018 in order to allow for deeper work with clients. I enjoy working with clients on a variety of issues, but identity, meaning-making, and life transitions are of particular interest.
My approach to therapy is professional, but informal. My goal is to truly listen while also sharing my impressions and feelings. So I won't just ask you "how does that make you feel" (although I will often do that) and look at you blankly, but I also won't pretend to know the exact "correct path" for you.
In addition to learning more about why now is the right time for therapy, the initial session allows us to get to know each other and for you to get a feel for my approach and thoughts on how I can be of most help.
