Great to meet you!

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you have been carrying the weight of anxiety, past trauma, depression, grief, relationship challenges, or major life transitions on your own. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving adults throughout Virginia via telehealth, I bring more than 25 years of experience in the helping profession. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals and families navigating life transitions, recovering from trauma, and facing everyday challenges that affect emotional well-being. These experiences have taught me that every person has a unique story, perspective, and path toward healing.

My approach to therapy

I use an integrative approach tailored to your individual needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Person-centered Therapy. Together, we will identify patterns that may be holding you back, build practical coping skills, process difficult experiences, and develop strategies that support lasting growth and resilience.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, I will take down a brief personal history and discuss symptoms and the current situation to determine an appropriate counseling approach to treatment. I will also ask you what you would like to see different in your life at the end of the sessions. We will explore whether we are a good fit and whether we can build a therapeutic rapport that you find comfortable and that will help you reach your goal. If so, we will work on a treatment plan to meet your needs.
