Great to meet you!

I enjoy collaborating with my clients to find ways for them to manage if not minimize their symptoms and find ways to experience life more fully. I received my Masters in Counseling in 2010 and have been working in the field since. I am very person-centered in my approach and use the following techniques Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Internal Family Systems, Dialectic Behavioral Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR. I have worked with people from various cultural backgrounds such as: Nepalese, Vietnamese, Hispanic, Native American, African American, as well as Caucasian.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy by really trying to understand the context in which the person experiences their struggle. Sometimes re-aligning our understanding of the context in which things occur can be freeing. From there I like to educate in finding coping strategies while also working on dealing with the root cause of the struggles.

What you can expect from me

The first session I really like to get to know each other and understand my client's perspective. I want to try to gather as much information as possible so I can understand context. I like to end that first session with some exercises that can help the client manage their symptoms and some homework until our next session.
