Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, honesty, and practical support. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to create meaningful change.

My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and solution-focused while also exploring the deeper patterns that influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, life transitions, grief, self-esteem issues, trauma, and personal growth challenges. Together, we develop practical coping strategies, build resilience, and work toward lasting emotional wellness.

I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can openly share their experiences at their own pace. Every person brings unique strengths, and I tailor treatment to meet each individual’s goals, values, and circumstances.

Whether you are seeking support through a difficult period or looking to better understand yourself and improve your quality of life, I am committed to helping you build the confidence, skills, and insight needed to move forward with greater clarity and purpose.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in validation, empathy, and practical problem-solving. I believe every person’s experiences, thoughts, and emotions deserve to be heard and understood without judgment. Feeling genuinely validated creates the foundation for meaningful change.

I use a cognitive and solution-focused approach, helping clients understand how their thoughts influence their emotions and behaviours. I believe that the stories we tell ourselves shape the choices we make, and together we work to identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that may be keeping clients stuck. By developing healthier ways of thinking, clients can create more productive behaviours and lasting change.

I also believe that our behaviours are purposeful. Even when a behaviour is no longer serving us well, it often developed because it met a need or helped us cope at some point in our lives. Rather than judging these behaviours, I help clients understand their purpose, identify what need they are fulfilling, and develop healthier strategies that better align with their goals and values.

Therapy is a collaborative process. My role is to provide a safe, supportive environment where clients feel respected while also offering honest feedback, practical tools, and thoughtful challenges that encourage growth. I strive to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and leave each session feeling empowered with skills they can apply in their everyday lives.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my primary goal is to understand your story. I want to learn about your experiences, your strengths, your challenges, your fears, and what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life.

I will spend time listening carefully—not only to what you say, but also to what may be difficult to put into words. Sometimes our patterns, emotions, and experiences reveal themselves in subtle ways, and understanding those can provide valuable insight into what you’re going through.

We’ll also discuss what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we’ll identify where you are today, where you would like to be, and what meaningful change looks like for you. This conversation helps us establish clear goals and create a treatment approach that is tailored to your unique needs.

Most importantly, I want you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth, and we’ll work together to create a path forward that aligns with your goals and values.
