Great to meet you!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with master’s degrees in social work and psychology, and over 15 years of experience supporting youth, adults, and families in both clinical and educational settings. My background includes providing therapy in community mental health agencies, hospital settings, and schools, giving me a broad understanding of how life stressors, trauma, mental health, relationships, environmental factors, and one’s religion or faith can impact overall well-being. I bring a culturally aware, compassionate, and supportive approach to my work, honoring each client’s unique experiences and background.
Earlier in my career, I provided individual, group, and family counseling for individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges. I have also worked with individuals, adolescents, and families navigating major life transitions and adjustments, emotional and behavioral difficulties, crisis situations, therapeutic group home placements, and juvenile justice involvement. My hospital social work experience further strengthened my ability to support individuals and families during times of crisis, stress, and uncertainty.
For the past 12 years, I have primarily worked as a clinical school social worker at the elementary and middle school levels, supporting students, families, and staff as they navigated emotional, behavioral, social, and academic challenges, including trauma, grief and loss, family-related concerns, and school-based crises. In addition to my clinical work, I served with AmeriCorps and later spent three years in Thailand as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer, focusing on youth development and educational work.
