Great to meet you!

I have been a psychologist for about 25 years. I am kind, dedicated, and empathic. My path to becoming a psychologist was a clear one for me; I always had a desire to help people in distress. I worked as a professor for about seven years early in my career but preferred working one-on-one with people in private practice. I believe in counseling. Over the years, I have seen many patients work through the most difficult problems and come to enjoy peace, hope, and vibrant mental health.

My approach to therapy

Counseling is an excellent place to work through acute and longstanding issues. I am guided by different theoretical orientations depending on the presenting problems and client preferences. I have received training in EMDR, ACT, CBT, and analytic therapies. I strive to help clients get to the root of their issues, employing solution-focused treatment when appropriate. I strive to balance treatment by emphasizing clients' strengths while helping them work through problems.

What you can expect from me

My passion is helping hurting people regain their lives, sense of direction, and psychological wellness. I assist clients in discovering the roots of their present-day issues and work to foster healthy self-perceptions and relationships. Patients often experience reduced emotional distress, increased insight, empowerment in using healthy coping skills, and hope for the future.
