Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Tricia Stark and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I am also a Certified First Responder Counselor delivering therapeutic services to law enforcement, fire and rescue, medical, and military personnel.

I work with individuals dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder, other trauma experiences, adjustment and life transition issues, grief, family conflict, stress, anxiety, depression, couples issues and conflict, and bipolar disorder.

I typically utilize a more integrative therapy approach as this allows me to tailor treatment to best suit the individual(s). The most commonly used therapies involve person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and cognitive-processing therapy.

My approach to therapy

My personal view? That one size definitely does not fit all.

By using a more integrative approach a tailored method of treatment can be created to suit the needs of each individual specifically and this is accomplished by utilizing a number of techniques or therapies. These therapies often include, but are not limited to, person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and cognitive-processing therapy. The issues and concerns that I most often work with include post-traumatic stress disorder, other trauma experiences, adjustment and life transition issues, grief, family conflict, stress, anxiety, depression, couples’ issues and conflict, and bipolar disorder. These issues and concerns often impact our ability to function effectively in our individual lives and in our relationships both personal and professional.

What you can expect from me

It is important to recognize that we all need help from time to time facing life’s challenges and navigating barriers in our lives. My role as a therapist is to help you navigate those barriers, assist in challenging negative thinking, build and utilize healthy coping skills, and both recognize and work towards goals.

I have over ten years of experience working with individuals, their families, couples, and groups. I currently treat those individuals eighteen years and over.

I whole-heartedly believe that effective therapy begins with a strong, healthy therapeutic relationship in an atmosphere where each individual can feel safe and free from judgement. I hope that this is that beginning for you.
