Great to meet you!

I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 14 years of nursing experience, including a decade dedicated to behavioral health. I came to psychiatry through community field nursing as a home visitor, caring for culturally diverse patients of every age in their own homes, and that experience still shapes how I practice. I work with adults, children, adolescents, and pregnant and birthing persons. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, and autism, and also treat depression, trauma and PTSD, OCD, perinatal and postpartum mental health, eating disorders, women's issues, self-esteem, and life transitions. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing at Western Governors University and my post-master's certificate in psychiatric mental health nursing at National University, and I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice.

My approach to therapy

My approach combines solution-focused brief treatment, supportive therapy with motivational interviewing, and culturally sensitive care grounded in cultural humility. I believe you already carry the resilience and strengths you need, and my role is to help you use them to become the best version of yourself. I take time to understand your history, your culture, and what matters to you before we settle on a plan together, and I treat medication as one tool among several rather than the whole answer.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a conversation, not an interrogation. I'll ask what brought you in, your history, your current symptoms, what you have tried before, and what you are hoping will be different. I'll tell you what I'm thinking and why, and we'll agree on next steps together. If medication makes sense we will go through the options, the benefits and the side effects plainly so you can make an informed choice. You will leave with a clear plan and a clear idea of when we will meet next.
