Great to meet you!

Hi - Welcome to my practice. I earned my MSW at Columbia University School of Social Work and completed postgraduate clinical fellowship at Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in NYC. I help clients nurture curiosity & appreciation for strategies they had to use to survive difficult childhood environments. I will support, teach & champion you in updating those strategies now to

live peacefully. I often treat clients with a history of trauma who battle anxiety, depression and C-PTSD. Learning compassion for yourself (rather than judgment) is the first step on the journey of creating the fulfilling life you deserve.

My approach to therapy

Humor, curiosity and a nonjudgmental attitude in our sessions together help clients begin to feel hope in areas of life they may feel stuck in and frustrated by. In gestalt therapy we work in the present moment with the body and nervous system, gradually creating safety and trust in your own felt experience. Your healing is already in you, like a seed waiting for nurturing circumstances in which it can take root and bloom. My job as your therapist is to teach you how to care for your MindBody and free it from weeds and pests like constant self doubt, fear, feeling guilty or undeserving, depression, anxiety or self sabotage. You naturally want to bloom, and with good therapy you can learn to trust yourself to bloom!

What you can expect from me

I like an unhurried first session with you, in which we take time to get to know what you currently struggle with, your physical and mental health history, your family of origin story, and your strengths, as well as what your goals are in seeking therapy at this particular time. Depending on how you feel most comfortable, I can structure you through asking questions about areas of your life and functioning, or you can tell me in your own way and in the order you prefer. I encourage first-time clients to trust their own body in choosing to continue sessions or not, since feeling a good sense of ‘fit’ with your therapist is important. Your own reaction to a first session is important to listen to.
