Great to meet you!

I have worked in the field of mental health for 16 years in a variety of settings including emergency rooms, mobile crisis, residential treatment, community homes, and adolescent transitional housing, and virtual based crisis work. In addition, I have also worked with the public safety (police and corrections) community. As a 1st generation Caribbean American, I also have ties to the Caribbean community and have provided clinical services to many members of the Diaspora.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe in treating all my clients with respect, dignity and compassion. I have primarily specialized in working with children and adolescents from a family systems perspective. I have enjoyed working with adult and geriatric populations as well. I have been trained in specialties such as crisis intervention and suicide assessment. I work with persons who are dealing with life challenges utilize techniques through modalities such as Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

There is no shame in seeking support. I lead each session with firm compassion and seek to ensure each client feels safe. In cooperation with each client, I seek to create a treatment plan that is individualized, measurable, and attainable for the client to feel empowered and as though they have developed coping skills to navigate the ups and downs that naturally occur in life. Let's talk about it!
