Great to meet you!

If you have been overthinking conversations, struggling to set boundaries, feeling disconnected in your relationship, or trying to keep everything together while feeling anxious or overwhelmed underneath, therapy can give you a place to sort through it.

Welcome! I want to first acknowledge you for being here. Therapy can feel daunting, and you do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. I work with adults in individual and couples therapy, with a focus on anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship concerns, identity issues, and communication difficulties. I also support clients navigating family conflict, trauma, anger, women’s issues, cultural and ethnic concerns, bipolar disorder, and major life transitions.

I am especially passionate about helping people build healthier boundaries, communication skills, and relationships while becoming more confident in who they are and what they need. My background includes college counseling, education and career counseling, life-skills development, private practice, and inpatient behavioral health. Those experiences have taught me that there is rarely one single thing contributing to how someone feels. My goal is to understand the whole picture and help you find a path forward that fits your life.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be tailored to you, not the other way around. My approach is integrative, collaborative, and focused on meeting you where you are. We may explore the thoughts and patterns contributing to anxiety or depression, the communication cycle you and your partner keep getting caught in, the impact of trauma or stress on your body, or the ways identity, culture, family, and past experiences shape how you relate to yourself and others.

Depending on your needs, I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you identify patterns in thoughts and behaviors, Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills to strengthen emotional regulation and communication, and Trauma-Focused CBT or somatic approaches when past experiences continue to affect the present. I also draw from Emotion-Focused and Solution-Focused Couples Therapy to help partners better understand each other, work through conflict, and strengthen emotional connection.

Strength-Based, Narrative, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based, and solution-focused approaches may also be incorporated when they fit your goals. The specific modality matters less to me than finding an approach that helps you feel understood and creates meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is not about having the perfect explanation for why you are here. It is about giving us a chance to understand what has been happening and what you would like to be different.

We will spend time getting to know one another, talking about what brought you to therapy, and exploring what you hope to get out of the process. If you already know what you want to work on, we can start there. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin, that is completely okay too.

You can expect me to be warm, empowering, and holistic while also being engaged in the work with you. I will listen, ask questions, offer perspective, and help you identify practical ways to move forward. Progress might mean communicating more clearly with a partner, setting boundaries without as much guilt, managing anxiety or stress more effectively, feeling more secure in your identity, processing trauma, or changing relationship patterns that keep repeating.

My goal is for you to feel heard and respected while we build a path forward that feels genuine, sustainable, and right for you.
