Great to meet you!

I specialize in multicultural psychotherapy, focusing on the intersectional contexts that make us who we are. As a Cambodian American having lived in a low socioeconomic status community and extremely diverse immigrant community in the US, I have a strong understanding of the American minority experience, and I hope I can help others who have felt marginalized throughout their live.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Diagnostic Privilege, I have a significant amount of experience working with a wide range of ethnic backgrounds, social economic status, and sexuality. I graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University, in Psychological Counseling with the Bilingual Latina/o Mental Health (BLMH) concentration.

My approach to therapy

My approach to psychotherapy is focused on providing warmth and understanding through person-centered therapy, from which I collaborate with the client to create goals suited to their needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT skills training, and Mindfulness to develop skills to use day-to-day, and lastly, to target deep-seeded psychological issues, I use psychodynamic and existential approaches to achieve a greater awareness of one's psyche.

What you can expect from me

In our initial session, I expect us to get a feel for each other, first and foremost building a relationship that might be pivotal in psychological development. I want to foster a space where authenticity, creativity, or our individual traits are welcome. From there, we create goal together to pursue, exploring what in your life you would like to improve.
