Great to meet you!

Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling with self-confidence, experiencing relationship challenges, or navigating a difficult life transition? You don't have to face these challenges alone. I'm Dr. Tynisa Adams, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, gain clarity, and work toward meaningful change.

I hold a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology and a master's degree in Counseling. My professional background includes individual counseling, school-based mental health, and behavioral support.

I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, focusing on your unique needs and goals. Together, we can explore emotional patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, strengthen boundaries, improve relationships, and build greater confidence.

You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Whether you're healing from difficult experiences, feeling stuck, or ready to prioritize your emotional well-being, therapy can be an opportunity to better understand yourself and develop practical tools for navigating life's challenges.

You deserve to feel heard, valued, and empowered. I invite you to take the first step toward greater self-awareness, emotional well-being, and a healthier relationship with yourself and others.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs and goals. I believe therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and free to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment.

I draw on evidence-based strategies to help clients better understand their emotions, recognize unhelpful patterns, develop healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and build self-confidence. Our work may focus on managing anxiety and stress, navigating life transitions, healing from difficult experiences, or creating healthier boundaries.

I recognize that each person's journey is different, so I work with you to identify meaningful goals and practical steps toward progress. My goal is to help you recognize your strengths, build emotional resilience, and feel more empowered to create positive, lasting changes in your life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, trusting relationship. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, the challenges you are experiencing, and what you hope to achieve. I'll listen to your concerns without judgment and give you space to share at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we will begin identifying your goals and explore how therapy can best support your needs. You are welcome to ask questions about the process, share any concerns, and let me know what would help you feel supported. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say before our first session.

My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about the work ahead. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and we will take it one step at a time.
