Great to meet you!

Hi, I am Tziporah Helwaser, APN, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in New Jersey, New York, and Florida. I graduated summa cum laude from Frontier Nursing University and am committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.

I specialize in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, and insomnia. I also have a strong focus on women’s mental health, including support during the prenatal and postpartum periods.

My practice includes psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and brief therapeutic interventions. I take a holistic, individualized approach that considers the whole person, not just symptoms, and I work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment plans that align with their needs and goals.

My goal is to create a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered as we work toward improved emotional well-being and a better quality of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment.

I take a holistic view of mental health, considering biological, psychological, and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to symptoms. My focus is on understanding the whole person, not just the diagnosis, and developing treatment plans that are tailored to each individual’s needs and goals.

I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and brief therapeutic interventions. When appropriate, I discuss medication options thoughtfully and collaboratively, ensuring clients feel informed and comfortable with their care.

I aim to help clients feel more empowered and understood while giving them the tools they need to enhance their emotional wellness and day-to-day functioning.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, my goal is to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns, experiences, and goals. I understand that seeking mental health care is an important step, and I strive to ensure that you feel heard, respected, and supported throughout the process.

Our initial appointment focuses on gaining a comprehensive understanding of your symptoms, mental health history, medical background, current stressors, and overall well-being. This thorough evaluation allows me to better understand your unique needs and develop personalized treatment recommendations.

Together, we will discuss potential treatment options and create a plan that aligns with your goals and preferences. Depending on your individual situation, treatment may include medication management, therapeutic strategies, lifestyle modifications, or a combination of approaches. Medication is not always necessary, and when appropriate, treatment recommendations are made thoughtfully and collaboratively.

My goal is for you to leave the session with a clearer understanding of your mental health needs, feeling heard, a sense of direction, and confidence that we are working together toward better psychological health and overall life satisfaction.
