Great to meet you!

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard and supported. I have been a mental health nurse for 11 years having graduated from Seton Hall university with Bachelor’s degrees in nursing and Master’s degrees at Walden University. As a nurse practitioner, I believe that mental health treatment works best when we collaborate, and encourage clients to actively participate in decisions about your care.

My approach includes listening to your concerns, conducting thorough assessments, and developing individualized treatment plans that may include psychotherapy, medication management, education, and lifestyle recommendations. I value open communication, cultural humility, and respect for each person's unique experiences, beliefs, and goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is holistic, patient-centered, and evidence-based. I believe that effective psychiatric care begins with building a trusting therapeutic relationship in which patients feel safe, respected, and heard. I recognize that mental health is influenced by biological, psychological, social, cultural, and environmental factors, so I assess each individual comprehensively to develop personalized treatment plans.

I value shared decision-making and work collaboratively with patients to establish realistic goals that align with their preferences, values, and needs. My treatment approach may include medication management, psychoeducation, supportive psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, and coordination with other healthcare professionals when appropriate. I emphasize educating patients about their diagnoses and treatment options so they can make informed decisions and actively participate in their care.

I am committed to practicing with empathy, cultural humility, and respect for diversity while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards. My goal is to empower patients, reduce stigma, promote resilience, and improve their overall mental health and quality of life through compassionate, evidence-based care.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where they are encouraged to openly discuss their concerns, experiences, and goals. My priority is to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship and ensure that each client feels heard, understood, and supported.

The initial appointment focuses on completing a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which includes discussing current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, substance use, family history, social background, and any factors that may be affecting overall well-being. I also assess safety concerns, including the risk of self-harm or harm to others, when appropriate.

Together, we will identify your primary concerns and establish realistic, individualized treatment goals. We will discuss possible diagnoses, review treatment options, and develop a collaborative plan that may include medication management, psychotherapy referrals when appropriate, lifestyle recommendations, and follow-up care. I encourage questions throughout the session and want clients to leave with a clear understanding of the next steps, feeling informed, empowered, and hopeful about their treatment journey.
