Great to meet you!

Welcome to my Headway profile! I’ll briefly share about my training here. I am a licensed family therapist with nine years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I hold a master’s degree in Family Therapy from Drexel University and have advanced training in the Person of the Therapist model developed by renowned therapist, Dr. Harry Aponte, which emphasizes the therapist’s use of self, authenticity, and emotional presence as a powerful part of the healing process.

I specialize in working with anxiety and relationship-related concerns, including relationship stress, conflict, life transitions, and feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns. Whether I am working with an individual, a couple, or an entire family, my goal is to understand you, to collaborate with you and to build a trusting therapeutic relationship that is safe and supportive.

My approach to therapy

My work is grounded in a systems theory perspective. In simple terms, systems theory views people as deeply connected to the relationships, environments, and patterns around them. Rather than seeing problems as existing solely within one person, we look at how family dynamics, communication styles, roles, society/environment and past experiences interact and influence current struggles. Change in one part of the system can lead to meaningful change throughout the whole. This approach protects clients from being pathologized by the therapist and instead, with this approach, clients are better understood and better supported in welcoming their goals.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for me to get to know you and understand what brought you to therapy. I begin by listening carefully to your story and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy.

Some clients prefer to share openly, while others want more guidance and structure—I adjust my approach to meet your needs. When helpful, I may ask about family background or important relationships, and I sometimes explore spirituality or mindfulness if those feel meaningful to you.
