Great to meet you!

I earned my Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi in 2024. Prior to becoming a licensed counselor, I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and have been working in the mental health field since 2012.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. I have extensive experience providing mental health services across a variety of settings, including working with adolescents and adults struggling with substance use disorders and addiction. My work has allowed me to support individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, life transitions, and other emotional and behavioral concerns.

I believe in creating a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. My goal is to build a collaborative therapeutic relationship that empowers clients to develop healthy coping skills, foster resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

I believe that meaningful change happens when clients feel heard, understood, and challenged in a supportive environment. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented. I strive to create a space where clients can openly discuss their struggles without fear of judgment while also encouraging personal accountability and growth.

I work from an evidence-based perspective, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, and psychoeducation to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I believe that understanding why we respond the way we do is an important step toward creating lasting change.

My professional experience includes working with both adolescents and adults experiencing substance use disorders, behavioral addictions, depression, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, family conflict, and life transitions. I have extensive experience helping individuals navigate the effects of shame, guilt, unhealthy coping strategies, trauma, and relationship challenges.

In therapy, I work alongside clients to identify their strengths, develop practical coping skills, improve emotional awareness, and build healthier patterns of thinking and behavior. I tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs because I recognize that no two people or situations are the same.

Whether someone is seeking support for addiction recovery, improving relationships, managing overwhelming emotions, or simply wanting to better understand themselves, my goal is to help clients feel empowered, develop confidence in their abilities, and create meaningful, lasting change that extends beyond the therapy room.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about getting to know each other and creating a comfortable space for you to share your story. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, the challenges you’re currently facing, and what you hope to achieve through counseling.

This session is also an opportunity for us to begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, experiences, strengths, and concerns so we can work together to develop goals that are meaningful to you.

There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to share more than you’re comfortable with. My role is to listen without judgment, provide support, and help you identify the tools and strategies that will best meet your individual needs. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan to help you move toward healing, growth, and lasting positive change.
