Great to meet you!

I began my journey providing therapy in 2013, working in community behavioral health and outpatient services for the majority of my career. I've been in private practice since 2022. I hold a Master of Science in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (Diagnostic Privilege) in New York. The agencies I have worked for focus on helping survivors/victims of crime receive therapeutic services. My areas of focus include but not limited to: sexual violence, domestic violence, child sexual and/or physical abuse, grief, first responders. I have been in private practice and continue to specialize in trauma treatment. I work with clients who are experiencing different life transitions, relationship issues, difficulties managing stress, depression, anxiety, ADHD, Adjustment Disorders.

My expertise is in treating PTSD and helping clients heal from past trauma. I am certified in EMDR and TF-CBT. I've run DBT groups for survivors of physical and sexual assault/abuse and have been practicing DBT since 2017. I have extensive training in CBT, beginning in 2012.

My therapy style is built on safety, trust and collaboration. Life needs balance, especially when we are experiencing the emotional load therapy can bring. I take a strength-based approach to promote a healthy and balanced mind, body and soul.

My approach to therapy

This is a collaborative process between myself and my clients. Depending on the needs and goals of an individual, we will decide which approaches are most suitable. I pull from EMDR, CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based practices, MI, and other interventions/modalities.

I am person-centered, honest, kind, direct and authentic.

My goal is to create a safe space that is nonjudgemental. I try to ask the right questions so you can find the answers for yourself. There may be a time that this doesn't work. If so, we spend time processing and determing the root cause of the issues and identify what needs to change. Other times, we just need to find solutions in the here and now. I am flexible and I try to meet you where you are in the moment. Therapy is like a dance, leaning in and out of the work that is being done. It is important that you feel empowered, capable and autonomous.

I help clients understand the connection between their mind and body, learning how to work with their nervous systems to better regulate and handle stress. You will learn practical tools/skills that will positively impact your ability to cope with stress, even if it is still present.

What you can expect from me

My intentions are to set a safe space and give the client hope. Hope is contagious and can be such a positive motivator in the work that one does. It's important for someone to feel heard, accepted, seen, and understood.

This work doesn’t just happen, it takes dedication, perseverance, surrendering, and awareness. I am honored to be a part of your journey to heal and/or change. I look forward to learning about who you are, where you have been and what you want your future to look like.
