Great to meet you!

Welcome, my name is Valerie. Since receiving my Masters in Social Work at Columbia University in 2014, I have worked with diverse populations and several topics like depression, anxiety, grief, managing medical illnesses, relationship issues, etc. I also have a passion for supporting parents of special needs children. I’m excited to get to know you and see how I can be of help to you!

My approach to therapy

You may be struggling with feelings of loneliness, self-doubt, depression, anxiety or other intense emotions. My goal is to target, challenge, and redirect the thinking that keeps you struggling with cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to explore change. I welcome those who have felt marginalized, excluded or lonely. Let’s get started!

What you can expect from me

Congrats for taking the first step! I like to do an intake to get some background and assist in developing some goals for therapy. It may take some time to build a therapeutic relationship but this is aided by my warm, compassionate, positive regard for all my clients.
