Great to meet you!

I have an undergraduate degree from DePaul University in Women's Issues. A CADC, and a MSW from UIC Jane Addams School of Social Work. I'm passionate about holistic health, building resilience, transforming lives, and sometimes finding meaning and purpose. I have helped many individuals over the past 15 years who were struggling with PTSD/trauma, anxiety/depression, bipolar d/o, loss/grief, relationships, and substance/alcohol use.

My approach to therapy

My goals is for clients to leave with something that helps them better able to cope and find joy, meaning and purpose. At a minimum feel that they're on the path/journey of healing. I often utilize an eclectic approach to healing which may include a psychoanalytic approach, CBT, mindfulness, or Bowen's Family Systems Theory. There are various tools, techniques and approaches that I find useful. Sometimes finding joy in an activity or humor can be therapeutic.

What you can expect from me

The therapeutic alliance between the client and the therapist is paramount to the healing process. My goal is to create a non-judgemental and healing environment for clients. Client's are asked their goals for therapy during the initial interview. There are times when one may not have a specific goal, but wants or needs to talk. Often we cannot see our problems, but once we're able to freely and openly talk about them, we begin to see patterns in behavior.
