Great to meet you!

I’m Valerie Mason-Chase, a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey. Before becoming a counselor, I enjoyed a successful career as a Registered Nurse after earning my BSN from North Carolina A&T State University. Later, I felt called to counseling and pursued my Master’s in Counseling at Cairn University.

Today, I work with both individuals and couples, helping them navigate challenges, heal from pain, and strengthen their most important relationships. My goal is to provide a compassionate, client-centered space where hope, growth, and restoration are always possible.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in a client-centered philosophy—creating a safe, supportive space where each individual and couple feels heard, respected, and empowered in their healing journey. I believe that every person carries the capacity for growth and change, and my role is to walk alongside you with compassion, guidance, and practical tools for lasting transformation.

Drawing from my background as both a Registered Nurse and Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring a unique perspective that honors the connection between emotional, relational, and physical well-being. I use a variety of evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the Gottman Method for couples, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and grief and trauma therapy.

What you can expect from me

In our work together, you can expect a safe and supportive space where you feel heard, valued, and respected. I will help you explore your thoughts, emotions, and relationship patterns while equipping you with practical, evidence-based tools you can begin using right away. Whether you come as an individual or as a couple, our sessions will focus on healing past hurts, strengthening communication, and building resilience. My goal is to walk alongside you as you move toward hope, restoration, and lasting growth.
