Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Valerie!

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Montana and Ohio with a decade of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping people reconnect with their authentic selves.

I founded Wild Living Therapy not only because of my deep love for wildlife and nature but also because I believe we all carry untamed, misunderstood aspects of ourselves—parts that may feel "too wild" or difficult to accept. My goal is to create a space where you can honor these parts, step into your power, and recognize your worth.

You're not broken—you are whole. Let’s navigate this journey together.

My approach to therapy

I have both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University. Throughout my career, I have worked with people of all ages and backgrounds on different topics like anxiety, self-esteem, and figuring out who they are. When appropriate for individuals in therapy, I involve parents and families because I believe that working together helps with holistic healing.

Therapeutic Modalities Used:

  • Adventure Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Coherence Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS, also called parts work)
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Theraplay

What you can expect from me

My approach is both compassionate and accepting, yet I gently challenge beliefs that may be limiting your growth. I believe that we are born whole and that true healing comes from embracing every part of who we are.
