Valerie Rausch

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker graduating from the University of Kansas in 1984. My internship at the Menninger Foundation provided a solid foundation in psychodynamic psychotherapy and family systems therapy. I joined the Kaiser Permanente BH team in 1990 where I provided individual, group and family therapy. Two years ago, I opened a private practice in Riverside, where I continue to support individuals, couples and families in their efforts to live their best lives.

I am empathic and humanistic in my approach to treatment engaging creatively with others to explore opportunities for growth using CBT, Solution Focused therapy, Mindfulness, etc. Curiosity mixed with empathy and a humble sense of humor creates an environment in support of others being fully human. Movement is an important part of human growth, so let's take a walk together to explore your opportunities for the peace, joy, and freedom waiting on the other side of human suffering.

Trust is the foundation of any meaningful relationship and therapy is no exception. Trust enables one to take risks and reveal heartfelt struggles and/or sorrows which can create a path for healing. With keen listening skills, I aim to hear past the physical symptoms and into the heart where we find a well of opportunities to explore values, behaviors, attitudes, communication skills, coping skills, and thoughts that bind us to old habits while practicing thoughts that grow healthy habits.
