Great to meet you!

Great to meet you! I am a practicing psychotherapist in New Jersey. I completed a Master's of Clinical Social Work from Rutgers University, and am a credentialed Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I've had 14 years of experience in providing counseling for individuals and couples. My professional experience includes work in a variety of mental health & addiction settings; ranging from inpatient psychiatric, intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), crisis stabilization, routine outpatient community mental health, and my own private practice with individuals, groups, & couples. I have post-graduate training in trauma-informed treatment, EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples), & integrative health coaching. Since beginning my work in private practice, I primarily enjoy focusing my work with adults, ages 18 and older, who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, marriage/relationship problems, and life transitions.

My approach to therapy

I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental, honest and common-sense approach to mental health, while looking at your unique situation from a 40,000 ft view. I understand that each person is complex and dynamic with a variety of wants, needs & beliefs. My training and experience can help you learn about who you are in the most authentic sense, so you can break free from the bondage of emotional pain.

My style is client-centered, attachment-based, rooted in divine love for all human beings. Each person comes with a unique set of circumstances, so I tailor our work accordingly. Interventions may be: experiential, CBT, trauma-informed, emotionally-focused (individual/couple's therapy), common-sense life and health coaching, assistance in reducing or eliminating the need for psychotropic drugs.

Together, we will explore the challenges you face and the areas of your life that demand clarity & healing.

What you can expect from me

Therapy can offer a wide range of benefits. A therapist can wear many hats, depending on your specific set of needs. A therapist can provide support, assist in exploring and implementing problem-solving and/or coping strategies, help process difficult or painful emotions and memories, address breakdowns in communication and interpersonal relationships, assist with stress management, unresolved childhood issues, grief/bereavement, and life transitions, just to name a few. Many people find that therapy can be a valuable asset in enhancing personal growth and accountability, dealing with marital/family issues, and even managing their physical wellbeing. A therapist is a neutral, third-party who can compassionately come alongside you as you navigate life’s challenges, offering a fresh perspective on your situation, or helping you to see into your “blindspot”. My clients are able to recognize meaningful progress by observing change in any of the following ways: an improved sense of self-awareness, your goals, and values; improvement in your personal and professional relationships; resolution to the concerns that initially brought you to counseling; improvement in your ability to cope with life stressors; ability to manage difficult emotions (i.e., anxiety, depression, grief) and disturbing thoughts; notable improvement in communication/listening skills; breaking old, unhelpful behavioral patterns and developing new, functional habits; improved self-esteem.
