I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experiece. When requested, I am available to provide Biblical Counseling. I believe in starting where the client is and building up a person to obtain her/his best self. I provide encouragement, support and hope. I will gently guide an individual to improve her/his life situation. I will provide kind, honest correction when needed to assist a person to become the person that she/he wants to be for a better life.
I lead with listening. My approach is collaborative and client-directed: you set the pace, and I bring steady, honest support to help you work through what's weighing on you. I draw from Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to help you understand and shift the emotions driving your patterns, and Motivational Interviewing to help you clarify what you want and find the internal drive to get there.
Our first session is a conversation, not an intake form. I want to hear about you: what's brought you here, what's felt hard, and what you're hoping for. I'll share a little about how I work and we'll talk through what feels like the right pace and approach for you. My goal is that by the end of that first hour, you feel genuinely heard and a little less alone with whatever you've been carrying.
