Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Valerie. Whether you're new to therapy or looking for a fresh start with a new therapist, I'm here to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore life's challenges. Together, we'll work to better understand what's holding you back, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools to help you move forward with confidence.

I'm a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) in the State of Ohio and a Certified Case Manager. I hold a bachelor degrees in Criminal Justice and Child and Family Studies, as well as a Master of Social Work. My goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered as we work toward meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. With more than two decades of experience in the social service field, I've developed an ethical, evidence-based approach that helps clients navigate life's challenges while building resilience and confidence.

I believe every person has the capacity for growth and positive change. My role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. Together, we'll identify your strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful goals at a pace that feels right for you.

Drawing from my experience in both direct clinical care and broader systems of support, I take a holistic approach that considers your emotional well-being, relationships, environment, and personal values. My goal is to help you create lasting change and live a more balanced, fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your current concerns, review your personal history, and identify the goals you'd like to work toward.

I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to guide and support you by offering insight, evidence-based strategies, and a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable being yourself. I strive to bring authenticity to our conversations to help create a welcoming and engaging environment.

By the end of our first session, you'll have a better understanding of my approach, and together we'll begin developing a plan that feels meaningful, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing, growth, and lasting change.
