Great to meet you!

Change is one of life's few constants. While some changes bring excitement and growth, others can feel painful, unexpected, and overwhelming. Often, both can be true at once. As humans, we naturally try to avoid uncomfortable and unwanted emotions. Along the way, we develop ways of coping- some of which may no longer serve us. Many of my clients come to therapy while navigating experiences such as trauma, the transition to parenthood, or grief and loss. Therapy can provide a dedicated space to process these experiences, gain insight, and develop tools to move forward with greater clarity.

I specialize in working with clients who have experienced trauma (victims of crime & abuse) and those adjusting to major life transitions (parenthood, postpartum recovery, grief, and changes in independence or identity). When working with youth, I take a youth centered approach through play, expressive arts, & developmentally appropriate interventions.

At times, my clients are seeking growth and healing. Other times, they simply need a supportive space to set down the weight they've been carrying. Our work together may include moments of laughter, tears, celebrating victories, sitting with difficult emotions, and everything in between.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we'll explore the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences that may be contributing to your current challenges while identifying strengths that can support your growth and healing.

My approach is client-centered and grounded in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Motivational Interviewing, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I strive to build strong therapeutic relationships and meet clients where they are while providing practical tools that support meaningful and lasting change.

Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, family concerns, maternal mental health challenges, grief, or major life transitions, we'll focus on strategies that help you move forward with greater confidence and emotional wellness.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong foundation for therapy. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're facing, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where you feel comfortable expressing yourself openly and honestly.

As we work together, you can expect compassion, empathy, collaboration, and practical support. There may be moments of reflection, growth, laughter, and even difficult emotions, but you won't navigate them alone. My hope is that therapy helps you feel more confident, connected, resilient, and empowered as you move toward the life you want for yourself.
