Great to meet you!

I have been practicing psychotherapy for forty years, and have trained and supervised hundreds of therapists in developing the skills necessary to do this work. I enjoy the practice of therapy and look forward to connecting with you. My clinical expertise is in the areas of trauma and PTSD, depression and anxiety, and grief and loss.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to providing psychotherapy is a blend of psychotherapeutic interventions, based on individual needs and goals in therapy. I have trained extensively in depth/ psychodynamic psychotherapy, with a focus on a developmental, self, and relational approach, as well as in cognitive-behavioral (CBT) interventions. I believe a broad background of knowledge and skills guides me to best determine which approach will help you the most.

What you can expect from our first session

Therapy may be different depending on the goals for therapy and the needs of the person. Typically speaking, we will discuss the things that are currently happening in your life, things that happened in the past that are relevant to your issue, and review the gains we’ve had from the previous session. Ultimately, I want to help you bring what you’ve discovered or learned during therapy back into your daily life.
