Great to meet you!

I'm Vanessa — a bilingual Latina therapist who works with teenagers navigating some of the hardest parts of growing up: anxiety that won't quit, depression that makes everything feel flat, anger that comes from pain, and the particular challenge of growing up between cultures or feeling like you don't fully belong anywhere. I've spent six years in school-based mental health settings, which means I understand the real pressures teenagers face — academically, socially, and at home. I bring that context into every session, along with a genuine commitment to showing up without judgment. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish, and I work with families throughout Massachusetts via Telehealth. I accept Aetna, Cigna, Point32 Healthcare, and Carelon Behavioral Health.

My approach to therapy

My approach is direct and relational — I won't just nod and reflect your words back at you. I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Trauma-Focused CBT, which means the work is both evidence- based and practical. We'll build real skills you can use outside the therapy room: tools for managing overwhelming emotions, making sense of painful experiences, and responding instead of reacting. I also take cultural context seriously. Growing up Latina, I understand what it means to live between worlds, to carry family expectations quietly, and to find language for experiences that don't always have easy translations. That informs how I work — especially with teens from Latino and immigrant backgrounds.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake form. I want to understand what's going on for you — or for your teen — and what brought you here right now. I'll ask questions, but I'll also make space for you to ask yours. You don't need to have everything figured out before we meet; you just need to show up. By the end of our first session, you'll have a clearer sense of whether we're a good fit and what working together might look like. I hold a free 15-minute consultation before booking — if you'd like to connect first, reach out through Headway and we'll set that up.
