Great to meet you!

I focus on helping individuals through grief and loss, anxiety, depression, anger, and physical stress. My passion is helping patients move from a place of despair to optimism. My ability to help others comes from personal life experience, formal and informal education and the desire to help. I use researched based therapeutic methods to strengthen and empower you to be able to problem solve and face challenges independently. I will not promise you a cure. I will promise to work with you until you reach a place of peace and calm. If that is what you are looking for, I would love to meet you.

My approach to therapy

I allow clients to be themselves, and I am a motivator. My belief is simple: healing starts in the way you think about your life issues. Everyone has something to bear, and it is the way you see your challenges, not the challenges themselves, that shapes what comes next. I use research based methods, and here is what they look like in practice. Cognitive behavioral therapy helps you catch the thoughts that keep you stuck and practice steadier ones. Cognitive processing therapy and trauma focused CBT give you a structured, safe way to work through painful experiences without reliving them. Mindfulness based work teaches you to notice a hard feeling without being swept away by it. Motivational interviewing helps you find your own reasons to change, and a strength based lens keeps us building on what is already working in you.

What you can expect from me

Together we will name one thing you want to feel differently about, and I will tell you honestly how I think we can get there. From there, you will be guided through acceptance and change, so that over time you can problem solve and face challenges independently. Most people leave that first hour feeling lighter, heard, and a little more hopeful than when they sat down.
