Great to meet you!

I am a Queer Latine, first‐generation mental health clinician practicing in Colorado and Texas, with 11 years of experience supporting individuals who have felt othered by their families, communities, or society. I also have experience in working with individuals who have experienced family and/or relationship trauma as well as significant changes in life related to grief and loss. I understand the trust clients place in me when they choose to share their stories, and I hold that responsibility with deep care and compassion. My priority is to create a space where emotional safety is felt, honored, and protected so clients can feel empowered to do their healing work. I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities, as well as immigrant and first gen, through trauma‐informed care, openness, and steady, affirming guidance. I use pronouns she/her/they/them.

My approach to therapy

My approach in working with clients when considering trauma informed care is that I take into consideration the entire individual's history. This would entail how they are in different settings (work, school, home, partnership, as a child, young adult, etc.). With trauma being defined as "a deeply distressing or disturbing event", we take the time to examine how past events have impacted their quality of life. I specialize in identifying a client's traumatic experiences and helping the client to deconstruct them and reprocess them so that they are able to feel less activated by past experiences and more in control of their present.

As a clinician, it is important that I take time to genuinely connect and understand the details of a clients lived experiences. This helps me offer recommendations that support clients in moving toward a life they want to engage in meaningfully — not one they feel they "should" live. My approach centers each client’s autonomy, values, and emotional safety.

I would like the opportunity to do the work you have been looking to do while also respecting your pace and comfort level. Give yourself a chance to receive affirming support and the space to grow and support your most authentic self.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, a client will share their presenting concerns, reason for seeking therapy and describing in detail their life story using a psychosocial assessment that entails medical, mental health, education, work experience, relationships, childhood experiences and more. We will then identify therapy goals to help guide our sessions. We will end with any questions the client has for me and addressing any concerns about starting therapy.
