Great to meet you!

Reaching out for help and finding the right counselor can be daunting. In our first appointment we will explore the counseling journey, what therapy has to offer, and set goals that define what a better life would look like. I like to work holistically and collaboratively with children, adults or geriatric clients working through anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship or communication difficulties, or transitions to find the best pathway to growth, using effective, evidence based practices.

My approach to therapy

Therapy needs to be tailored to you - how you learn and what is working for your growth. I believe that a mixture of validation plus working on skills leads to growth. I am trained in many different strategies including ACT, CBT, DBT, ERP, Eye movement therapy, Polyvagal, sensorimotor art, among others. We will work collaboratively to find your specific toolbox style. I have been licensed for over 10 years and continue to learn more effective methods of healing

What you can expect from me

The first session sets the tone for therapy, beginning with creating a safe place and connection. To do that, I first discuss the format of therapy, my approach, and what you can expect of me. This gives you an opportunity to get to know me and ask questions, while easing into sharing your story. We will then discuss an overview of your background and the present problem. Finally, we will work to set treatment goals so we know where we are headed to give future sessions direction.
