Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and an EMDR Certified Therapist. I am also a CBT for Insomnia Certified Clinician through the Board of Behavioral Sleep Medicine, with advanced CBT-I training, including a competency-based program through Stanford University’s Sleep and Health Insomnia Program.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, insomnia, perfectionism, rumination, trauma-related distress, life transitions, workplace stress, and emotional overwhelm. Many of my clients are responsible, thoughtful, high-functioning adults who are used to holding everything together for others, but privately feel depleted, anxious, stuck in their heads, or disconnected from their own needs.

My work is structured, practical, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based care. I help clients better understand their patterns, build skills, and create changes that can continue beyond therapy.

I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and I work with adults from diverse cultural backgrounds, including clients navigating cultural adjustment, identity, belonging, relocation, and cross-cultural stress.

My approach to therapy

My approach is structured, collaborative, compassionate, and goal-oriented. I work with adults who may appear capable and high-functioning on the outside, while internally carrying anxiety, stress, insomnia, burnout, past difficult experiences, perfectionism, rumination, self-doubt, or emotional exhaustion.

Therapy with me is practical and evidence-based. We will work together to understand the patterns that are keeping you stuck, clarify what matters most, and develop tools you can use between sessions. I often support clients with anxiety, work stress, burnout, trauma-related distress, life transitions, people-pleasing, difficulty setting limits, and chronic insomnia.

One of my specialty areas is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the gold-standard treatment for chronic insomnia. When sleep problems are part of a larger pattern of stress, anxiety, hyperarousal, or emotional overload, I can integrate CBT-I into the broader therapy plan.

I use evidence-based approaches including CBT-I, CBT, ACT, CPT, EMDR, and mindfulness-based skills. Sessions are focused on insight, skill-building, between-session practice, and steady progress toward meaningful goals.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on understanding what brings you to therapy, what has been feeling difficult, and what you would like to change. We will review your current concerns, relevant history, stressors, strengths, and any patterns that may be affecting your mood, anxiety, sleep, relationships, work, or daily functioning.

My goal is for you to leave the first session with a clearer understanding of what may be maintaining the problem and what treatment may look like. If insomnia or sleep disruption is part of the concern, we may also review your sleep history, routines, and current strategies and begin using a sleep diary to better understand patterns over time.

The first session is structured but conversational. We will begin building a clear roadmap for therapy, identify initial goals, and discuss practical next steps so treatment feels focused, collaborative, and useful from the beginning.
