Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Vicki Smith. I’m a virtual mental health counselor with a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I offer online counseling through my private practice and welcome clients of all ages. I work with individuals, couples, and families who may be struggling with relationship concerns, life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life. These challenges can make everyday life feel heavy and exhausting—but you don’t have to carry it alone. My goal is to help you find practical ways to cope, heal, and function better than you are right now. I offer a relaxed, supportive, and warm space where you can be yourself, all from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

My approach to therapy

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my work. CBT looks at how our thoughts and behaviors are connected to how we feel. Together, we’ll gently explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work on replacing unhelpful thoughts with healthier ones that support more balanced emotions and positive change.

While CBT is a tool I use often, therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. If something else feels like a better fit for what you’re going through, I’m always open to using a different approach that best supports you. I specialize in working with adolescents and couples, but I have experience supporting people of all ages. Common areas I help clients with include relationship issues, co-parenting challenges, life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, and grief or loss. And if what you’re facing doesn’t fit neatly into one of those categories, that’s okay too—there’s room here to work through whatever you’re carrying.

What you can expect from me

My goal is simple—to help you become the healthiest version of yourself. All I ask is that you’re willing to show up, put in the work, and stay open to the process. I’ve always believed that if someone leaves a session feeling even a little better than when they walked in, then we’ve done something right. We’re not aiming for perfection, and change won’t happen overnight. Healing takes time, and learning to trust the process is part of the journey. I’ll walk alongside you as we work through whatever feels most important to you. It matters to me that you know what to expect from me—and that you feel comfortable sharing what you hope to get out of therapy. My approach is warm and supportive, but I’ll also gently challenge you when needed, especially when it can lead to meaningful growth. Together, our goal is for you to feel happier, healthier, and more at ease in your life.
