Great to meet you!

I was in a near fatal boating accident 15 years ago. As a result, I have a great appreciation for all aspects of healing. I enjoy taking an integrative approach in my private practice helping you to explore all aspects of your life that support your growth and recovery. I use many therapies like talk therapy, mindfulness, Brainspotting, Emotional Freedom Technique, nutrition, sleep, and exercise.

I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!) and my Doctorate of Science in Holistic Nutrition from Hawthorn University (unfortunately closed during the pandemic).

I have been practicing for over 25 years. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings in addiction. In my private practice, I have extensive experience treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, Executive Dysfunction, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, addiction, trauma, and helping people looking for personal growth.

I enjoy working with children, adults, and couples from 10 years old and up.

I am married, I have two grown children, two cats and have realized a late in life passion for singing and performing.

My approach to therapy

I enjoy using an integrative approach to therapy, treating the "whole" person. I believe mental health includes whole body health (since the head and body are connected to each other). Thoughts impact the body and the body's health impacts our thoughts. It is important to evaluate all aspects of your lifestyle: diet, sleep, exercise, screen time, and time spent outdoors as part of your treatment plan.

In my office, we will also use Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Technique, Brainspotting, art, and other tools to uncover issues and find deep healing.

What you can expect from me

I like for my clients to take an active role in their healing. I teach therapies that can be practiced outside of my office so that you will have the tools you need to regulate your emotions on your own. I often assign "homework", depending on what comes up in a session, that you might need to practice between sessions. This homework is unique to your session and your needs at the time.

My job is to work myself out of a job with you!
