Great to meet you!

I have been a counselor in the Richland County Area for 20 years. I received my Masters' Degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from the Midwest Program at Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio. I am licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor with the State of Ohio. I have worked in both community mental health and private practice for most of that 20 years. I have specialized in trauma work or PTSD. Most of us have experienced trauma, which leads to other disorders, such as, anxiety, depression and relationships. I have been trained in EMDR and various other forms of treatment. I believe the key is to meet people where they are at and build on their strengths. I believe that people are able to meet the challenges they face. Sometimes they just need someone to walk along side of them. I am willing to do that in both telehealth and in person.

My approach to therapy

I want to welcome you to a place of safety. A place where you can share and be heard. I want to help assist you in moving forward on your journey.

What you can expect from me

Most importantly, I will want to hear from you. I want to know why you feel you need to come to counseling. To learn more about you and the current issue/s that you are having. The first session is typically longer than the ongoing sessions. We will be going over the forms you filled out. That will help me in filling out the mental health assessment and formulating a diagnosis. The diagnosis and what you share about your current issue/s will assist us in forming an Individal Service Plan (ISP). Which is a way to target your goals for therapy.
