Great to meet you!

I am a full-time counselor educator and maintain a part-time private practice. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in NJ and VA, and a board-certified counselor (NCC) and telemental health provider (BC-TMH). I have a BS in Psychology (Family Studies minor), a MA in Counseling (Clinical Mental Health & School Counseling), and a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision (Addictions & Family Counseling cognate). I have been working in the mental health field for over a decade.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My counseling style is warm, empathic, genuine, non-judgmental, collaborative, and relational. My approach is culturally sensitive and grounded in humanistic theories (e.g., person-centered theory) and motivational interviewing. I also readily integrate psychodynamic theory (e.g., object-relations/attachment theory). Depending on your needs and preferences, I can tailor my methods and draw from narrative, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-based counseling approaches.

What you can expect from our first session

Whatever your goals for counseling may be, we will always collaboratively work together to achieve them. If you are ready to take that step towards positive growth and change in your life, I am here to support you and be present with you on your journey. I look forward to working with you!
