Great to meet you!

In a safe and supportive atmosphere I work with individuals and couples (adults 18 years and older) to address a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. I strive to help individuals manage personal challenges such as various life stressors, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, substance abuse disorders, and dual diagnosis. I hold a master’s degree (MS) in Clinical Community Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. In Virginia I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP), and am a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). In addition, I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS).

My approach to therapy

I offer a personalized approach tailored to my clients' individual needs to help attain the personal growth they are striving for. I use various approaches to therapy including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), mindfulness (meditation, visualization, somatic awareness), ego state parts model, skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Freedom technique (EFT) tapping, the disease model of addiction, and Stages of Change model.

What you can expect from me

In therapy sessions I hope you feel heard and validated, are able to put your issues in perspective, and identify healthy coping skills to use on your own. I focus on helping you to identify personal strengths and learning to use coping skills to find your personal formula for wellness and life balance.
