Great to meet you!

Congratulations on taking the first step in your mental health journey. Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and finding the right therapist is an important part of the healing process. I strive to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work through life’s challenges.

For over 20 years, I have specialized in working with children, adolescents, and young adults facing emotional, behavioral, academic, and social challenges. My areas of expertise include Autism, ADHD, behavioral concerns, anxiety, and depression. I understand how these difficulties can affect not only the individual, but the entire family system.

In addition to my clinical work, my extensive experience within the school system allows me to support and advocate for families navigating special education, school-based services, and the process of securing appropriate supports for their child. I believe every individual has unique strengths and the capacity for growth. My goal is to empower clients and families with the insight, skills, and confidence needed to overcome challenges, reach their fullest potential, and lead healthy, fulfilling lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, client-centered, and solution-focused, with treatment tailored to the unique needs of each individual and family I work with. I believe therapy should provide not only emotional support and a safe space to process difficult feelings, but also practical tools, coping strategies, and guidance that foster meaningful and lasting change. I work with individuals and families navigating emotional struggles, life transitions, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, and everyday stressors, with the goal of helping clients build insight, strengthen resilience, and move forward with greater confidence.

When working with children and adolescents, I recognize the important role that family relationships, parenting dynamics, and environmental supports play in emotional well-being, development, and overall success. Collaboration with caregivers is an essential part of the therapeutic process, and when clinically appropriate, I incorporate parent guidance, family sessions, referrals, and additional support to strengthen communication, improve functioning at home, and promote progress beyond the therapy room.

My style is warm, interactive, empathetic, and engaging. I strive to create a supportive environment where clients and families feel comfortable, understood, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process. In addition to ongoing therapy, I am available to provide consultations, referrals, and guidance as needed to ensure families feel supported not only in treatment, but also in accessing the resources and care that best meet their needs.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to feel supported, empowered, and genuinely valued throughout the therapeutic process. My goal is to create a space where each individual feels engaged, understood, and encouraged to explore both their strengths and the challenges that may be impacting their emotional well-being. Through therapy, clients will develop greater self-awareness, build practical coping strategies, and gain meaningful tools to better navigate life’s challenges. Over time, these skills can be internalized and applied across settings, helping clients create positive, lasting change in their relationships, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.
