Great to meet you!

My name is Victoria, and I am a mental health counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University as well as a post master's certification in trauma. I also have experience working as a substance use counselor, supporting individuals through challenges related to mental health, addiction, trauma, stress, life transitions, and emotional wellness.

I am passionate about creating a supportive, nonjudgmental, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel safe, heard, and empowered throughout the counseling process. I believe therapy should be collaborative and individualized, and I work alongside clients to help them build coping skills, increase self-awareness, strengthen relationships, and work toward meaningful personal goals.

My experience includes working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, substance use disorders, self-esteem challenges, and difficulties with stress management and emotional regulation. I strive to meet clients where they are while providing compassion, accountability, and practical tools to support long-term growth and healing.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing, balance, and personal growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach to counseling is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences, emotions, and personal goals at their own pace. I believe each person’s journey is unique, so I tailor treatment to meet the individual needs, strengths, and cultural background of each client.

I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care. Through CBT, I help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and develop healthier coping strategies. DBT techniques support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Motivational Interviewing helps clients strengthen motivation and confidence toward positive change, particularly when navigating substance use, behavioral change, or life transitions.

As a trauma-informed counselor, I recognize the impact trauma can have on mental health, relationships, and overall functioning. I work to ensure clients feel emotionally safe, empowered, and respected throughout the therapeutic process while building resilience and practical tools for healing and growth.

My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, stress management, self-esteem, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My goal is to help clients feel supported while developing the insight, skills, and confidence needed to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.

What you can expect from me

I typically focus on creating a supportive, accountable, and collaborative environment where staff feel safe to ask questions, grow professionally, and provide high-quality care to clients. My goals often include improving communication within the team, strengthening clinical documentation and compliance, increasing staff confidence and clinical skills through reflective supervision, and promoting consistency in client-centered care.

I also work toward outcomes such as increased client engagement, reduced barriers to treatment, stronger interdisciplinary collaboration, and improved staff retention and morale. I strive to create an environment that balances compassion with accountability, where team members feel valued, supported, and empowered while maintaining clear expectations and professional standards.
