Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Victoria Oblisk, LPCC, LICDC. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Public Health from Hiram College and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University.

I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to people’s stories; the parts of life that are heavy, complicated, and often carried alone for too long. My work is centered around helping people feel less alone in what they’re going through and more supported as they move toward healing.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, substance use concerns, relationship challenges, stress, and major life transitions. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck internally.

I’ve completed extensive additional training throughout my career, including EMDR therapy, which helps clients process experiences that still feel “stuck” or unresolved.

My goal is to create a space that feels safe, grounded, and real; where you don’t have to have it all together, and you don’t have to go through things alone

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and very real. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model for healing. Instead, I meet you where you are and we figure things out together at a pace that feels manageable.

I often use a blend of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered therapy. What that really means is we’ll work on understanding what’s going on beneath the surface: your thoughts, emotions, patterns, and past experiences, and we’ll build practical tools to help you feel more grounded in your daily life.

For clients with trauma or distressing past experiences, EMDR can be a powerful way to help your brain and body finally “unhook” from things that still feel heavy or stuck.

I also care a lot about helping people feel understood, not just treated. Therapy with me is a space where you can be honest, messy, emotional, unsure, or overwhelmed, and still feel accepted.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really just a conversation. No pressure to have everything figured out.

We’ll start by talking about what brought you in and what’s been going on lately in your life. I’ll also ask some background questions so I can better understand your story and what you’ve been carrying.

You don’t need to “perform” or say things the right way. You can show up exactly as you are, even if you’re anxious, unsure, or not totally ready to open up yet.

My goal in that first session is for you to leave feeling a little more seen, a little more understood, and clearer about what working together could look like. We’ll also start identifying goals that actually feel meaningful and realistic for you.

Most importantly, I want you to feel like you’re not doing this alone anymore.
