Great to meet you!

I'm Victoria Puzo, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 13 years of experience working with teens, adults, and seniors. My background includes clinical work in medical settings, which gave me a deep appreciation for how physical health, mental health, and grief are often intertwined. I recently transitioned to private practice, where I specialize in anxiety, depression, and grief — including a specialty most therapists don't offer: I'm a Certified Veterinary Social Worker, one of the few in New York, which means I'm trained to support people navigating the loss of a beloved pet and veterinary professionals experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, or occupational trauma. If any of that sounds like you, you're in the right place.

My approach to therapy

Therapy with me is a collaboration, not a prescription. I'm not here to tell you what to do — I'm here to help you understand your own experience more clearly, identify the strengths you already have, and find practical paths forward that actually fit your life. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Meaning-Centered Therapy, and I adjust my approach for each person. Some clients need structured tools; others need space to process and be heard. Most need both, and we'll figure out together what works. What stays constant is the room I create: one where the things that feel too heavy to say out loud anywhere else can actually be said.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I'll take the time to get to know you — not just what's bringing you to therapy, but who you are and what matters to you. We'll talk about your goals and I'll share more about how I work, so you can decide whether it feels like the right fit. You don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive. Many people come in not quite knowing what they want to say yet — that's okay, and we'll work through it together. I see clients across New York via telehealth and accept Aetna, Cigna, and Carelon Behavioral Health. When you're ready, book a free consultation and let's start there.
