Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Vielka Centeno, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of medical experience. My career began in the emergency room, where I developed a strong foundation in acute care and crisis management. I later transitioned into primary care, which deepened my understanding of long-term health and wellness. Today, I’m passionate about psychiatry-helping individuals improve their mental health, find balance, and live fulfilling lives. My goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered on your journey to wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. I believe that mental health treatment works best when we work together as a team — combining your experiences and goals with my clinical expertise to create a plan that truly fits your needs.

I take time to listen and understand the whole picture — your emotional well-being, physical health, lifestyle, and daily stressors. My style is supportive, nonjudgmental, and centered on helping you feel heard and empowered in your care.

I specialize in treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and trauma-related concerns. I also have a strong interest in helping individuals manage stress, improve emotional resilience, and find balance in their personal and professional lives.

Whether through therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, my goal is to help you achieve lasting wellness and a better quality of life.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a foundation of trust. I’ll take time to learn about your personal history, current concerns, and goals for treatment. We’ll talk about what brought you in, your mental health and medical background, any medications you’re taking, and what you hope to achieve through care.

This session is mostly conversational — there are no right or wrong answers. My goal is to understand your unique story so we can create a personalized treatment plan together. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and share any preferences or concerns about your care.

By the end of our visit, you’ll have a clear understanding of next steps, whether that includes therapy, medication management, lifestyle changes, or a combination of approaches.
