Great to meet you!

Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of sitting with parents struggling through the heartache of divorce, immigrants and children of immigrants who are making a home against all odds, college students fighting dominant culture norms, survivors of marital abuse, and many more clients. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in education and non-profits in India, and I am astounded, then and now, by the human capacity for resilience and strength in the face of hardship.

Things to know before scheduling: I have very few telehealth appointments available, and I can only see couples in person. My office is in West Seattle. Please email me at [email protected] to see if I have openings, this is the best way to get in touch. If using insurance I suggest calling them first to see how much they will cover and how much will be your responsibility and if your deductible has been met.

Things to know for your appointment: Client parking for the West Seattle Professional Building can be found at the East entrance off of 44th street (google may take you behind the building). Once you arrive, find the therapists suite and please take a seat in the lobby where I will come to receive you at the time of your appointment. Therapy is a lot of talking! I recommend being comfortable, bringing water, and allowing yourself a few minutes of re-orienting time after the session. Some choose to bring a journal to the session and you are welcome to do so. I look forward to seeing you!

A bit about my approach to therapy

I have worked in private and community clinics with clients of all backgrounds; today I take particular pleasure in working with adults who identify as helpers, healers, advocates, caregivers, and parents who, laboring to support others, seek support for themselves. I am trained in Relational-Cultural, EMDR, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral therapies, and Gottman Method of Couples Therapy. I can provide therapy in English and Telugu.

What you can expect from our first session

The course of therapy can look different based on individual needs. From our sessions you can expect a collaborative process to tailor therapy to your needs, to take away concrete "resourcing" or emotion regulation skills, to identify root causes of your difficulties, trace how they become noticeable in different areas of your life, explore the change that you would like to see happen, and support as you as bring new responses and new beliefs into different areas of your life.
