Dr. Vinod Suresh

Dr. Vinod Suresh is a board-certified psychiatrist in Montclair, NJ. He believes every patient has a story. He enjoys working with healthcare and financial industry professionals, students (college, graduate, law, and medical), and LGBTQ clients.

Dr. Suresh received his training as a resident at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center (now part of Mt. Sinai Hospital), in New York City. There, Dr. Suresh attained specialized knowledge in addiction psychiatry, personality disorders, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. He went on to provide psychiatric care in outpatient, hospital, and elder care facilities in Bergen County, NJ. Dr. Suresh also treated the nation's veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Dr. Suresh provides medication management in addition to offering talk therapy with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies and counseling on lifestyle changes.

The initial session serves as a psychiatric evaluation as well as a way for Dr. Suresh to appreciate the goals and desires of the client. Medications may or may not be prescribed in the first visit as clients are best served by pharmacological options when they are ready.
