I practice trauma-informed care that provides tools to manage stressors and triggers as we prepare to process trauma with EMDR and other techniques suitable to my client's individual needs. I have worked with foster care youth in placements and group homes, continuation high school students, substance use and dependency, POWs, seniors, adults with severe mood disorders and personality disorders, and high risk behaviors. I now work with a adults who seek comprehensive treatment for their trauma.
Trauma survivors are so often left feeling disconnected and disempowered. Utilizing EMDR protocol to heal trauma helps the brain untangle the web of pain created by traumatic events that our bodies store in the central nervous system. Studies even show that the brain continues to heal after an EMDR reprocessing session. My focus is stabilization, harmony, and collaborative healing.
I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment where my clients walk away feeling heard, thoughtful, and inspired. My clients often leave our sessions with relevant commitments in-between meetings that prepare them for the EMDR process. After reprocessing sessions I advise clients to take self-compassion and rest seriously as their brains heal and reacclimate after intense eye movement protocols.
